SWEET & STICKY ASIAN-STYLE ROAST CHICKEN

Nothing compares to the spendour of a good 'ol roast chicken. For any and every occasion...

- WHAT YOU WILL NEED -

  • Whole chicken (preferably free range, without giblets)
  • 2 tsp garlic, crushed
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice (ideally freshly squeezed)
  • 1 Tbsp ground ginger
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • A healthy shake of SWEET & STICKY CHICKEN
  • Vine tomatoes
  • 2 lemons, each halved
  • 1 onion, peeled and halved

- METHOD -

Pre-heat the oven to 200°C. Prepare the basting sauce by adding together the garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, ginger, olive oil and honey. Finish off with a healthy shake of Cape Herb & Spice Sweet & Sticky Chicken Shaker Seasoning and stir well to blend. Place your whole chicken in a large roasting pan and stuff with lemon and onions before pouring over the basting sauce and rubbing it in to coat well. Add a handful of vine tomatoes and lemon halves to the dish for colour and flavour and place in the oven to roast for at least 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until cooked through.
